Detlev Schönauer
Detlev Schönauer (born October 16, 1953 in Mainz ) is a German cabaret artist . He was best known in his role as the French bistro host Jacques (in the fictional Jacques' Bistro ) through the SR . The name is explained by the direct proximity of the Saarland to France , which has numerous cultural and social influences on the daily life and customs of the Saarlanders. Schönauer is also active as a composer and author.
Career
Schönauer studied physics and worked as a pianist, songwriter and church musician. After graduating, he stayed as a research assistant at Saarland University . During this time he had his first television appearances. Finally he turned his passion into a profession and became a professional cabaret artist.
Appearances on radio and television made Schönauer known in Saarland and beyond. With his stage programs he made guest appearances throughout Germany and also in neighboring countries. His appearances even took him to Greece, Turkey and the German troops in Kosovo (2002).
In 1998 , 1999 and 2000 , Schönauer commented on the Tour de France in cabaret on ARD . Since 2003 he has been on SWR TV 's show Sonntag laughs - Fun from Mainz , in which he is supported by Alice Hoffmann .
Political opinions
Schönauer is a member of the political network Auferstand , which was founded by Oskar Lafontaine and Sahra Wagenknecht . In this context, Schönauer spoke out against Chancellor Merkel's refugee policy and had to take some criticism for it. Schönauer led a lawsuit against the blogger Uwe Caspari, who described his stage program as "racist". The Saarbrücken regional court dismissed the lawsuit on July 25, 2019.
