Jacques Monod (actor)

Jacques Monod (born August 21, 1918 in Casablanca , † December 25, 1985 in Paris ) was a French actor .

Jacques Monod grew up in Casablanca, Paris and Poitiers . After graduating from high school, he trained as an actor. His career stalled when he was drafted into World War II.

In 1945 he joined the acting troupe of Louis Jouvet . 1952 to 1957 he worked as an assistant director at Jean Mercure . It was not until 1958 that he was regularly used in film roles. The handsome actor turned out to be the ideal cast for people of respect of all kinds such as generals, directors, judges, prosecutors and other high dignitaries.

In Germany he gained notoriety for the role of the gnarled and assertive Captain Smollett in the ZDF four-part Christmas show Die Schatzinsel .
