Jacques Nathan-Garamond

Jacques Nathan-Garamond (born March 26, 1910 in Paris , † February 25, 2001 in Paris) was an internationally active French commercial artist , illustrator and painter . He was best known for his poster designs .

Jacques Nathan-Garamond is known as a demanding artist with a tendency towards strict graphics . After World War II , he settled down as a graphic designer and carried out all kinds of work such as poster designs, advertisements, illustrations and design of catalogs. One of his most important works was the poster for an exhibition on human rights in 1949. He has worked for companies and brands such as Mazda , Ducretet-Thomson , Air France and Telefunken .

Jacques Nathan-Garamond co-founded the Alliance Graphique Internationale , AGI , in 1952 . In 1964 he was invited to documenta III (in the graphics department) in Kassel . Since 1985 he has devoted himself mainly to painting.
