Jacques Olry

Jacques Olry (born September 11, 1833 in Saint-Leu-Taverny , Département Seine-et-Oise , † June 25, 1901 in Paris ) was a French mayor and MP.

Life

Olry came from a merchant family and also learned this trade. After several successful years in local politics, he was elected Mayor of Bémécourt ( Département Eure ).

Olry took part in the Franco-German War and settled in Paris after the end of the war ( Peace of Frankfurt ). There he was elected to the Conseiller Général as a representative of the Département Eure . During this time, Olry met the wine merchant Louis Roederer ( Champagne Louis Roederer ) and a little later became his son-in-law.

Olry died in Paris at the age of almost 68 and found his final resting place in the Père Lachaise cemetery (Division 69).
