Career

The 173 centimeter tall Rossignol, who was used in both midfield and attack , began playing football at the amateur club FC Lorient . In 1964 he moved to the first division club Stade Rennes , but was initially intended mainly for the reserve team. Nevertheless, he found in a time when substitutions and substitutions were not yet possible, the way to the first team and made his debut on September 6, 1964 in a 3-2 win against Olympique Nîmes in the top French division. He then hardly played a role in the team until he was able to book more regular missions again during the 1966/67 season. On August 27, 1967, Rossignol wrote club history, as he became the first player in the 2-0 defeat against AC Ajaccio who came after the rule change from none to a possible substitute in the game. This was followed by his best season in this regard, with 29 games played. In 1969 he turned his back on Rennes, which after 63 games with eight goals also meant the end of his first division time.

In the same year, the footballer signed with his ex-club FC Lorient, which had meanwhile been promoted to the second division, where he became a regular player. The 1970/71 season marked his most successful time as a goalscorer with eleven goals. He remained loyal to Lorient for years and repeatedly achieved the league's whereabouts, although the rise never succeeded. In 1977, the then 31-year-old decided to end his career after 224 second division games with 37 goals.
