Jadwiga Jędrzejowska
Jadwiga "Jed" Jędrzejowska Galert (born October 15, 1912 in Krakow , † February 28, 1980 in Katowice ) was a Polish tennis player .
Career
She celebrated her greatest successes in the thirties, when she stood in the finals of Wimbledon , French Open and Forest Hills . In 1937 she lost the women's singles at Wimbledon to Dorothy Round 2: 6, 6: 2 and 5: 7 and the final of the US championships against Anita Lizana 4: 6, 2: 6. She lost the final of the 1939 French Open against Simonne Mathieu 3: 6 and 6: 8.
In 1939 she and Simonne Mathieu won the doubles competition in Roland Garros against Alice Florian / Hella Kovac 7: 5 and 7: 5.
