history
In 1895 Paul Hartmann built an inn named after him near the Brandpass, which was later used as a hostel. When winter sports became popular at the beginning of the 20th century, the capacity had to be increased significantly. The establishment was now called Gasthaus Brand .
In 1927 the Glatzer Mountain Association took over the hut , renovated and expanded it, and in 1933 gave it the name Brandbaude . It experienced a particular boost from the construction of the Sudetenstrasse, which passed it.
When the German population had to leave the country after 1945, the building fell into disrepair. In 1948 it was taken over by the PTTK Glatz tourism administration and is now named after its home town of Spalona . In the following years there were further renovations. Nevertheless, the dining room with its glazed veranda has retained its historical decor and is still reminiscent of the atmosphere of the old inn.
At the end of the 1960s the hut was given a new name, this time after the highest mountain in the Habelschwerdter Mountains, Jagodna .
