The SpVgg Jahn Forchheim is a sports club from the Upper Franconian town of Forchheim . The association has 10 departments and approx. 1500 members. The association puts the promotion of youth and popular sport in the foreground.
Emergence
In 1904 the TV Jahn Forchheim was founded, twenty years later the sports association Forchheim was the second predecessor of today's SpVgg. These two clubs merged in 1947 to form SpVgg Jahn Forchheim.
Football department
From 1994 Jahn Forchheim played six seasons in the Bavarian Football League after winning the championship of the Landesliga Mitte (Bayern) and then withdrew at the end of the 1999/2000 season for financial reasons, although the necessary sporting class was by no means missing. Coach Roland Seitz led the newly formed team straight away into midfield of the league. In the further past you played a lot of seasons in the national league from the end of the 1960s to the mid-1990s. After the league reform in 2012, the team was classified in the Bayernliga Nord.
Despite the promising sporting situation at the top of the table, the club announced in April 2012 that it would not apply for a regional league license for the 2013/14 season and would forego a possible promotion to the Bavarian regional league. In the 2018/19 season , Jahn Forchheim was the penultimate in the relegation. There they lost to the second division FC Viktoria Kahl .
