Jahna (Käbschützal)

Jahna was a community that existed from 1935 to 1969. It went up in Jahna-Kagen .

Geography and history

The community was located west of the city of Meißen on the left bank of the Elbe . It was created on November 1, 1935 through the merger of the independent towns of Gasern , Jesseritz , Oberjahna , Schletta and Sieglitz . Jahna was in the office of Meißen in the German Reich . In 1937, the Niederjahna district of Meißner was reassigned to Jahna, and the Korbitz Vorwerk came to the city. After the Second World War , the community became part of the Soviet occupation zone and later the GDR . The 1952 district reform established Jahna's affiliation to the Meissen district in the Dresden district . The independence of the municipality ended on January 1, 1969 when it merged with Kagen to form the municipality of Jahna-Kagen with 14 districts.
