Jaime Ramírez Banda (born August 14, 1931 in Santiago de Chile , † February 26, 2003 ibid) was a Chilean football player . With the national team of his home country he took part in the 1962 World Cup in his own country, where the Chileans surprisingly finished third. He played a total of 13 different clubs and won the Chilean football championship three times between 1956 and 1971 .

National team

Ramírez made his debut in the Chilean national team in 1954 in a 2-1 defeat by Peru . In total, Ramírez played 36 games for the selection of his home country and scored 13 goals. With Chile he took part in the 1962 World Cup in his own country, where he scored twice in six games, once against Switzerland for a 2-1 final score and once in the scandalous game against Italy . At the end of his career, he took part in his second World Cup at the age of 35 , but in 1966 in England , Chile was eliminated in the preliminary round.

Jaime Ramírez died in 2003 at the age of 71.
