Jair Rodrigues Mello de Oliveira , sometimes also called Jairzinho Oliveira (born March 17, 1975 in São Paulo ) is a Brazilian singer, instrumentalist (guitar, piano, violin), songwriter and music producer.

Live and act

Oliveira comes from a musical family; his father is Jair Rodrigues , his sister Luciana Mello . In 1982 he performed the song "Io e Te" at the Sanremo Festival . Then he was one of the protagonists of the children's television program Balão Mágico ("Magic Balloon"); he also belonged to the group Turma do Balão Mágico , which successfully released songs from the program on phonograms. After studying journalism at the Universidade de São Paulo , he studied music production and music marketing at the Berklee College of Music in Boston from 1993 (graduated in 1998).

Together with his sister and João Marcelo Bôscoli, Pedro Mariano, Daniel Carlomagno, Max de Castro and Wilson Simoninha, he formed the Projeto Artistas Reunidos in 2000 , which blended samba and bossa nova with soul , funk and electronica . Then he started a solo career with the Trama label with a similar concept ; album 3.1 in particular is considered a highlight. As a songwriter, singer and musician, he is also involved in Uri Caine's album Rio ( Winter & Winter , 2001). He can also be heard on albums by Milton Nascimento , Ed Motta and his sister Luciana Mello and produced Tom Zé . He also worked on the film Os Desafinados . He is married to the singer and actress Tania Khalill .
