Jacob Lynn "Jake" Pavelka (born January 27, 1978 in Dallas , Texas ) is an American pilot who has appeared in four reality TV formats, including The Bachelor .

Early life and career

Jacob Lynn Pavelka was born in Dallas, Texas. His parents are Sallie LaNell (nee Mack) and James Lynn Pavelka, he has Czech ancestors. He is the youngest of three brothers. Pavelka attended the University of North Texas and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach , Florida . He started taking flight lessons at the age of 12 and became a flight instructor at the age of 23. He worked as a pilot for Atlantic Southeast Airlines under the name Jake Landrum. He has also appeared in several television commercials and television shows produced in the Dallas area. Pavelka is a cousin of the model and actor Jessie Pavelka .

Reality TV

Pavelka appeared as a contestant in the fifth season of the ABC reality show The Bachelorette . He dropped out of the competition there, later he acted in the 14th season of the series The Bachelor with. The season ended with Pavelka proposing to the participant Vienna Girardi. The couple separated in June 2010. After that, Pavelka took part in the tenth season of the American dance show Strictly Come Dancing . His dance partner there was Chelsie Hightower. In July 2011, Pavelka was a candidate for the second season of Bachelor Pad . He was also a nominee for the VH1 reality series "Famous Food" and appeared on an episode of The CW reality show "H8R".

Further appearances

In June 2010, Pavelka guest-starred on an episode of the planned fictional dating show Drop Dead Diva . On January 14, 2011, Pavelka had a guest role as a pilot in the soap opera Reich und Schön . From February to March 2012 he hosted the Chippendales show in Las Vegas .
