Jake Vedder (born April 16, 1998 in Pinckney ) is an American snowboarder . He starts in the snowboard cross discipline .

Career

Vedder started the Nor-Am-Cup on Mount Hood for the first time in March 2014 and finished 26th and 16th. At the Junior World Championships 2015 in Yabuli , he achieved 29th place. The following year he won the gold medal in snowboard cross at the Winter Youth Olympic Games in Lillehammer and took 20th place at the Junior World Championships in Rogla . He made his debut in the World Cup in March 2016 in the Baqueira-Beret , which he finished in 41st place. In February 2017, he came 18th in the individual at the Junior World Championships in Klínovec and won the gold medal in the team competition together with Senna Leith . In the 2017/18 season in Moscow he achieved his first podium finish in the World Cup with third place together with Senna Leith in the team competition. At the beginning of the 2018/19 season, he won the individual gold medal at the 2018 Junior World Championships in Cardrona . As the season progressed, he finished second at the World Cup in Cervinia and fifth at the 2019 World Championships in Park City . He finished the season in ninth place in the Snowboard Cross World Cup.
