Jakob Dörr (politician, 1799)

Jakob Dörr (born July 9, 1799 in Rheinbischofsheim ; † April 6, 1868 there ) was a Baden merchant and politician . He was a member of the second chamber of the Baden Estates Assembly in Karlsruhe from 1842 to 1851 and from 1857 to 1858 for the office of Rheinbischofsheim / Kork, as well as mayor of Rheinbischofsheim.

Jakob Dörr was born as the son of the innkeeper Johann Jakob Dörr (born November 15, 1777 in Rheinbischofsheim; † October 1, 1846 there; Protestant). The Dörr family originally comes from Grünberg in Hesse .

Dörr was married to Maria Sophia Wetzel. They had five children (Jakob Gustav, Marie Sophie Fanny, Johann Jakob Albert, Ludwig Edward and Louisa Ida). His father Johann Jakob (born November 15, 1777 in Rheinbischofsheim; † October 1, 1846 there; Protestant) was also a member of the second chamber of the Baden Estates Assembly in Karlsruhe from 1819 to 1823 and from 1831 to 1835. The Dörr family was award winners 1st class medal for hemp cultivation at the 1855 World's Fair in Paris .
