Jakob Hermann Daub

Jakob Hermann Daub (born June 6, 1805 in Siegen , † February 28, 1847 in Munster ) was a German Protestant theologian and author of Christian edifying literature. Two of his works have also been translated into the Dutch language.

Life

He was born in Siegen in 1805 as the son of a tax officer and attended the local high school. From 1823 to 1826 he studied Protestant theology at the Universities of Bonn and Münster . In 1826 and 1828 Daub completed the theological exams in Münster. From 1826 to 1828 he was a teacher at the pedagogy in Siegen and then a divisional pastor in Münster. From 1831 he was also assistant preacher of the civil parish and also religion teacher at the Paulinum grammar school . In 1839 he was appointed consistorial assistant in the Münster consistory and appointed first pastor . In 1845 he became consistorial councilor. From 1846 he managed the business of the general superintendent . He died on February 28, 1847 in Münster.
