In 2004/05 12 teams took part in the Austrian Basketball Bundesliga. In the basic round there are 22 rounds on the game board. The first eight teams qualify for the main round (H1), in which all results achieved up to then are "taken".
The rest of them play together with the best two teams in the second division for the first four places that mean promotion to the Bundesliga or relegation.
In the main round there are 14 rounds. The first four of the main round 1 advance to the semi-finals, where the first against the fourth, and the second against the third for a place in the final. The semi-finals and the final are also played best-of-five.
