Jakob Kübler

Johann Jakob Kübler (born on January 6, 1827 in Winterthur ; died on March 8, 1899 in Wülflingen , today also part of Winterthur) was a Swiss pastor and writer.

Life

Kübler was the son of a teacher. His sister was the writer Maria Susanne Kübler . He attended school in Winterthur, then grammar school in Zurich and studied Protestant theology in Zurich from 1845 to 1848 . In 1848 he received his doctorate in philosophy from the University of Königsberg . After stays in Tübingen and Paris, he took over a pastor's position in Neftenbach in 1850 and was elected pastor by the community in 1851.

In literary terms he appeared through the radical anti-Jesuit poetry published together with others in the volume Lieder des Kampfes. He also wrote a drama, several volumes of short stories, two oenological writings and two works on the microscopic fossils of the Swiss Jura .
