Jakob Krinzinger

Jakob Krinzinger (secular first name: Josef; born February 18, 1934 in Sipbachzell ; † December 30, 2012 in Wels ) was an Austrian Benedictine and educator in Kremsmünster Abbey .

Live and act

He graduated from the Stiftsgymnasium Kremsmünster , first studied theology at the University of Salzburg and then completed a teaching degree for philosophy and natural history at the University of Vienna , where he was awarded a Dr. PhD in philosophy.

In 1952 he entered the Order of the Benedictines in Kremsmünster one, laid in 1953, the religious profession , and received on 31 July 1956, the priestly ordination . He was first prefect and then professor at the collegiate high school . From 1968 to 1976 he worked as Konviktdirektor or novice master and from 1976 to 1999 as director of the Stiftsgymnasium. From 1970 to 1996 he held the position of prior at Kremsmünster Abbey. From 1972 he was custodian of the scientific collection at the Kremsmünster observatory and as such coordinator of the renovation work and reorganization of the collection in connection with the anniversary exhibition in 1977.

With the establishment of the Forum Meierhof and the object park in the monastery, he advocated the realization of a combination of educational and artistic goals.

Publications

Krinzinger wrote a number of articles in festival publications and annual reports of the Kremsmünster Abbey and in the Upper Austria cultural magazine .
