Jakob Schadt

Jakob Schadt (born December 17, 1921 in Bingen , † December 14, 1995 in Mainz ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school and advanced training schools , he was a woodworker and sawmill at Richtberg KG from 1936. In 1939 he joined the Waffen-SS (1st SS-Totenkopf-Recruit Standard in Dachau ), from 1941 Rottenführer, from 1941 Unterscharführer and from 1943 Oberscharführer . After being a prisoner of war, he started working in the previous company in 1947 and became chairman of the works council there in 1954 . In 1972 he became Chairman of the General Works Council of Richtberg Bingen.

Political party

Schadt had been a member of the Hitler Youth since 1932 and from 1933 to 1939 Fähnleinführer in the German Young People and location leader. He became a member of the NSDAP in 1939 . After the war he joined the SPD in 1949. He was chairman of the local association, the district and the sub-district Mainz-Bingen. He is also a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate district and state board .

Landtag Rhineland-Palatinate

Schadt was elected to the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament for the first time in the 1963 state elections and belonged to this four electoral terms from May 18, 1963 to May 17, 1979. The petitions committee was a member of all electoral terms . In the 7th electoral term (1971 to 1975) he was deputy chairman of the Petitions Committee and a member of the "Prison Commission" subcommittee.

In 1974 he was a member of the 6th Federal Assembly .

Communal functions

He was a member and temporarily chairman of the SPD council group of the city of Bingen and from 1956 to 1973 a member of the district council and the district committee Mainz-Bingen.

He was chairman of the wood and plastics union (GHK) Bingen and district board member of the GHK Hessen / Rhineland-Palatinate, chairman of the representative assembly of the South German timber trade association , deputy state chairman of the AWO , member of the representative assembly of the German timber trade association and in the state youth welfare committee.
