Jakob Trapp
Jakob Trapp (born June 23, 1895 in Markt Erlbach ; † January 30, 1986 in Tutzing ) was a German composer and music teacher.
Trapp received his musical training in Nuremberg and Munich . He studied conducting, composition and violin a . a. with Walter Courvoisier at the Munich University of Music and Theater .
At the age of 32, Trapp founded the Private Trapp'sche Music School in Munich in 1927 ; five years later it was renamed Trapp'sches Conservatory of Music . In 1962 the state capital Munich took over the sponsorship and after consolidation and restructuring it was successfully continued as the Richard Strauss Conservatory until it was integrated into the University of Music and Theater . Then Trapp gave up all school obligations and withdrew into private life.
