Jalil Anibaba (born October 19, 1988 in Fontana ) is an American football player who is mostly used as a defender . He is currently under contract with the New England Revolution .
Career
Youth and amateur football
Anibaba went to Davis Senior High School in Davis . After he graduated there, he went to Santa Clara University , for whose soccer team he also played. A year before graduating from college, he moved to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he graduated.
During his senior year in college, he also played for Carolina Dyamo in the Premier Development League .
Club career
Anibaba was chosen as the ninth pick in the first round of the 2011 MLS SuperDraft by Chicago Fire. He made his competitive debut on March 19, 2011, the first day of the season, in a 1-1 draw against FC Dallas . He scored his first goal on March 30, 2011 when he won the Cup over the Colorado Rapids.
After three years with Chicago, he was transferred to the Seattle Sounders along with the eighth pick of the draft in 2014 and a third-round pick in 2015 . In return, Chicago received the two defenders Jhon Kennedy Hurtado and Patrick Ianni , as well as the 13th pick in the 2014 draft.
As part of the expansion draft in 2014 was Anibaba of Orlando City selected. After the draft he was transferred to Sporting Kansas City in exchange for Aurélien Collin . There he signed a contract on November 25, 2015.
After the 2015 season he was released from Sporting Kansas City and shortly thereafter signed by Houston Dynamo .
After the 2017 season, his contract with Houston Dynamo was not renewed and he moved to New England Revolution.
