Jaltomata Antillana is a plant type from the genus jaltomata in the family of the nightshade family (Solanaceae). It is endemic to the Greater Antilles .

Jaltomata Antillana is a one-year , herbaceous plant m, the plant height of 1 or more. The stems are three to five-sided and finely hairy. The leaves are egg-shaped, 6 to 15 cm long and 4 to 9 cm wide. Towards the front, the leaf blade is pointed to short, the base is rounded or almost cut off and is narrowed into the 2 to 5 cm long petiole . The leaf margin is almost entire or serrated, with the teeth triangular and blunt and the vibrations round. Both leaf sides are finely haired.

The inflorescences consist of three to five flowers , the inflorescence stalks are up to 15 mm, the flower stalks 6 to 12 mm long. The calyx has a length of 4 to 4.5 mm, the sepals are fused together for 1/3 to 2/5 of the length. The crown is colored white, broadly bell-shaped and about 5 mm long. These are folded in at the base of the calyx lobes.

The fruits are 6 to 8 mm large, red berries , which are accompanied by a calyx enlarged to 14 mm.

Occurrence

The species occurs on all islands of the Greater Antilles.
