James Butcher

James Butcher (* in Queen Anne's County in Province of Maryland , † January 12, 1824 ) was an American politician . He was acting governor of the state of Maryland from May 6, 1809 to June 9, 1809 .

Previously he was from November 8, 1808 to May 6, 1809 a member of the Council of Governor Robert Wright . He was nominated for this position by the Maryland Senate and elected with 52 votes.
