James Duke Mason

James Duke Mason (born April 27, 1992 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American LGBT activist. In 2012 he made his debut as a film actor .

Life

James Duke Mason is the son of singer Belinda Carlisle and actor and film producer Morgan Mason . The actor James Mason is his grandfather.

Mason, born at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center , grew up in Los Angeles for the first two years before his family moved to Europe in 1994 . Mason lived here in the United Kingdom , France and briefly in Austria . In France, Mason graduated from an international school in southeast Mougins . The Mason family later returned to the United States. He studied political science for a year at California Lutheran University .

In addition to his efforts to gain a foothold as an actor, Mason is also politically active. For example, during the summer of 2008 he was an errand boy in the United States House of Representatives . In the same year he made himself strong in the primaries for Hillary Clinton as a US presidential candidate, as one of numerous campaign aids.

At the age of 14, Mason came out and professed his homosexuality . Since then he has been a guest on numerous talk shows, including Larry King , Phil McGraw and Nancy Grace , to raise awareness of the rights of gays and lesbians. Since January 2012, Mason has served on the board of directors of Outfest , an LGBT film festival in Los Angeles. Mason is the youngest board member in the festival's 30-year history.

In 2011 he was voted one of the 100 most influential LGBT personalities worldwide by the trade magazine Out .

Also in 2012 he made his film debut in What Happens Next .
