James Joseph Daly

James Joseph Daly (born August 14, 1921 in Bronx , New York City - † October 14, 2013 ) was auxiliary bishop in Rockville Center .

Life

James Joseph Daly studied philosophy and theology at the seminary in Huntington (New York) and received on 22 May 1948 in the Cathedral Basilica of St. James in Brooklyn , the ordination . He has served in pastoral care at Blue Point, Suffolk County, New York , Richmond Hill, and Seaford, New York . From 1958 to 1968 he taught at the Diocesan Seminary in Huntington. In 1968 he became personnel director in the Diocese of Rockville Center , from 1972 pastor in Elmont (New York) .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on February 28, 1977 auxiliary bishop in Rockville Center and titular bishop of Castra Nova . The Bishop of Rockville Center, John Raymond McGann , gave him on May 9 of that year, the episcopal ordination ; Co-consecrators were Walter Philip Kellenberg , Old Bishop of Rockville Center, and Vincent John Baldwin , Auxiliary Bishop of Rockville Center.

On July 1, 1996, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
