James Leonard Doyle

James Leonard Doyle (born June 20, 1929 in Chatham , † April 22, 2004 in Ottawa ) was Bishop of Peterborough .

Life

James Leonard Doyle was ordained a priest on June 12, 1954 . Pope Paul VI appointed him Bishop of Peterborough on May 24, 1976, and he was instituted on July 14 of the same year.

The Bishop of London , Gerald Emmett Carter , ordained him episcopal on June 28 of that year ; Co- consecrators were Bernard Francis Pappin , auxiliary bishop in Sault Sainte Marie , and Eugène Philippe LaRocque , bishop of Alexandria in Ontario .

He resigned from his office on December 28, 2002.
