Nicola de Angelis CFIC (born January 23, 1939 in Pozzaglia Sabino ) is Bishop Emeritus of Peterborough .

Life

Nicola de Angelis joined the Order of the Sons of the Immaculate Conception and was ordained a priest on December 6, 1970 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Toronto and titular bishop of Remesiana on April 27, 1992 . The Archbishop of Toronto , Aloysius Matthew Ambrozic , donated him episcopal ordination on June 24 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Leonard James Wall , Archbishop of Winnipeg , and Thomas Benjamin Fulton , Bishop of Saint Catharines .

On December 28, 2002, he was appointed Bishop of Peterborough .

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on April 8, 2014.
