James McGee (born August 11, 1950 in Chatham , Kent ) is an English writer.

Life

McGee is the son of a British officer. His father's job meant that he spent his entire childhood and youth at various British Army locations in the Federal Republic of Germany , Gibraltar and Northern Ireland .

After working in various industries for a number of years, McGee turned to writing. At the latest with the introduction of his protagonist Matthew Hawkwood ( Bow Street Runner ), McGee also became known in the German-speaking world. According to Heyne-Verlag in February 2015, the series around Matthew Hawkwood will not be published in Germany because it was not successful enough in this country. Thus the book "Das Höllenschiff" remains the last volume in the series to be published in Germany for the time being.
