Life

After James Orr attended the Carleton School of Journalism , he studied film at York University . He then became the first Canadian ever to be admitted to the prestigious directing program of the American Film Institute in 1977 . As early as 1985 he directed the romantic comedy Breaking All the Rules , where he worked with scriptwriter Jim Cruickshank , among others . Since then, he has been linked to this by a long-term collaboration that spanned films such as three more men, one more baby , Mr. Destiny , one and one makes four and (no) a father wanted .

After actress Farrah Fawcett turned down Orr's proposal on January 28, 1998, the two began quarreling in the restaurant. After driving home to Orr's mansion, the argument escalated and Orr beat Fawcett in the driveway and choked her. A Los Angeles court found him guilty and sentenced him to 100 community hours and a $ 500 fine.

Orr has been an avowed wine fan since the 1980s and not only bid at several wine auctions, he also announced with wine journalist James Suckling in March 2011 that both of them want to run a website about drinking wine.
