James Randolph Reid

James Randolph Reid (born August 11, 1750 in Hamilton , York County , Province of Pennsylvania , †  January 25, 1789 in Middlesex , Pennsylvania ) was an American politician . Between 1787 and 1789 he was a delegate for Pennsylvania in the Continental Congress .

Career

James Reid's life dates are given differently in the sources. Within the Find A Grave source , it is stated that he was born in what is now Adams County as early as 1740 and died around 1790. His work as a lawyer, which is also not mentioned in the other sources, is also mentioned. What is certain is that he graduated from the College of New Jersey , later Princeton University , in 1775 and then served in the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War, where he rose to major. After the war he was considered by the government for his participation in the war with a land donation in the town of Middlesex in Cumberland County . He spent most of the rest of his life there. Between 1787 and 1789 he represented Pennsylvania at the Continental Congress.
