Jampal

The white wine variety Jampal is an autochthonous variety from Portugal and is mainly cultivated in the south of the country. Cultivation is recommended in the Beira Litoral, Ribatejo and Oeste regions . It is also approved in the regions of Trás-os-Montes , Beira Interior and the Azores . The planted area is 385 hectares (as of 1999). For best results, the winemakers in the area Torres Vedras north of Lisbon and in the area Colares .

The high -yielding variety produces aromatic white wines with a high alcohol content and aromas of lemon and dried fruits.

The Camarate Vermelho variety is a light-colored variety.
