Jan-Philipp Kalla (born August 6, 1986 in Hamburg ) is a former German soccer player . His preferred position is that of the central defender or in the defensive midfield. Alternatively, he occasionally plays as a full-back.

career

Kalla began his career at SC Concordia from 1907 and at Hamburger SV . In 2003 he moved to FC St. Pauli, where he was first used in the U19 Bundesliga and from 2005 in the 2nd team. On May 12, 2006, he played his first game with the first team of FC St. Pauli when he was substituted on at the regional league game against the second team of 1. FC Cologne . In Hamburg's championship year 2006/07 , Kalla didn't play a single game, he was only used for the reserve in the Oberliga Nord. Almost two years after his first game, on May 6, 2008, Kalla made his second appearance for FC St. Pauli when he played the full distance in the second division against 1. FC Kaiserslautern .
