Jan Bols (born August 27, 1944 in Hoogeveen , Drenthe ) is a former Dutch speed skater who mainly had his strengths in all-around competitions.

At the beginning of the 1970s, Bols was the third best speed skater in the Netherlands behind Ard Schenk and Kees Verkerk . In 1971 he was able to win the Dutch championship title and was one of the favorites for the European Championships . Due to an alternating error over 5000 m, however, he was disqualified, although he incorrectly ran the outer longer lane.

Bol's best season was 1972 when he took third place in both the European and World Championships . At the Olympic Winter Games in Sapporo , he came fifth over 1500 m and fourth over 10,000 m.

After his active career, he opened a sports shop in his hometown of Hoogeveen.
