Jan Dietrich

Jan Dietrich (* 1974 in Elmshorn ) is a German theologian .

Life

From 1996 to 2002 he studied theology, history and philosophy at the Universities of Tübingen and Cambridge . In 2002/2003 he passed the state examination in theology, history and pedagogy (Pädagogicum) at the University of Tübingen . During his doctoral studies (2003–2009) at the Universities of Tübingen and Leipzig with Angelika Berlejung , he studied Akkadian, Egyptian and Ugaritic. From 2004 to 2011 he was a research assistant at the Theological Faculty of the University of Leipzig at the Institute for Old Testament Studies. There was carried out in 2009 its graduation to the Dr. theol. (scl). From 2012 to 2018 he was Associate Professor of the Old Testament at Aarhus University . After completing his habilitation in 2016 at the University of Leipzig (Dr. theol. Habil.), He became director of the research program at the Theological Institute at Aarhus University. From 2014 to 2015 he was director of the Ph.D. Studied theology, philosophy and history of ideas at Aarhus University. Since 2018 he has been teaching as a professor for the Old Testament in Aarhus .
