Jan Gunnar Solli (born April 19, 1981 in Arendal ) is a Norwegian football player.

The winger player has been playing for the Swedish first division club Hammarby IF in Allsvenskan since 2013 .

Club career

He made his professional debut in the Norwegian Tippeligaen in 2000. He stayed for three years with his club, Odd Grenland . In its first season it was only used five times, but was able to prevail in the years to come. This also attracted international attention and Solli was invited to trial trainings by various European clubs. a. AC Milan and Aston Villa .

In the summer of 2003 he moved to Rosenborg BK to Trondheim and was used in fourteen games in the second half of the season. In the same year he became Norwegian champions with the team and scored his first goal on August 14, 2003. In total, he played 85 times for the Troillongan.

On March 16, 2007 he moved to Brann Bergen in Bergen . Trondheim received a transfer fee of six million Norwegian kroner . In his first season for the team from Vestlandet , he became one of the top performers in the squad and even won the championship with the team.

On January 24, 2011 Solli moved to the New York Red Bulls in Major League Soccer . There he played until the end of December 2012. In February 2013 he returned to Norway to join Vålerenga IF . In February 2014 he left Norway again and switched to the Swedish first division club Hammarby IF .

National team

Solli was already active for the Norwegian U-18 and U-21 national team. For the latter, he completed 16 games and scored 3 goals.

He played his first international match on August 20, 2003 against Scotland .
