During the transition to the professional band, Morks was the only wind player who remained in the orchestra.

In March 1961 he left the Dutch Swing College Band and played with the Down Town Jazz Band ; he also founded his own quintet, with which he won an Edison in the jazz genre in 1963 . Morks later played with Ted Easton and then with the re-established Dixieland Pipers . He also worked in the Reunion Jazz Band with Martien Beenen and Joop Schrier . In 1977 he appeared as a soloist with the Metropole Orkest . In the early 1980s, Morks formed his own band again with the Jazz Mates ; He recorded a CD with this sextet in 1984.
