Jan Philip Scheibe

Jan Philip Scheibe (* 1972 in Lemgo ) is a German artist . His work includes light installations, light performances and interventions, mostly in public spaces.

Life

Jan Philip Scheibe studied object design from 1996 to 2001 with a focus on environmental design and light art at the Aachen University of Applied Sciences. Since 2002 he has participated in numerous exhibitions and projects at home and abroad. In 2006 he received the Lower Saxony State Scholarship for Fine Arts in the Worpswede Artists' Houses . A light artist by the name of Jan Philip Scheibe appears in Jan Brandt's novel "Against the World". Scheibe's installation "House of Wind" plays a supporting role in the detective novel "Ostfriesennacht" by Klaus Peter Wolf .

His light installation "He turns his angels into winds" ( Schöppinger Berg 2005) was presented on April 29, 2014 in the WDR series "west.art Meisterwerke" .

Since 2009 he has formed the artist group "Scheibe & Güntzel" with the artist Swaantje Güntzel. This is the name of the "Preserved" project series.
