Jan Sienkiewicz

Jan Sienkiewicz (lit. Jan Senkevič ; born January 10, 1956 in Virbiniškiai , district of Vilnius ) is a Lithuanian politician of Polish origin.

Life

After graduating from high school, Sienkiewicz completed his degree in English and German at the Institute for Foreign Languages ​​in Minsk ( Belarusian Soviet Socialist Republic ). From 1978 to 1979 he worked as a teacher in Ashyany district . From 1979 to 1989 Sienkiewicz worked for the daily newspaper “Czerwony Sztandar” (“ Kurier Wileński ”) as a correspondent and department head, from 1989 to 1997 as a publisher for the Polish “ Magazyn Wileński ”.

From 1995 to 1997, from 2000 to 2003, Sienkiewicz was a member of the Vilnius Municipality Council and 1997 of the Šalčininkai Rajong Municipality Council, and from 1996 to 2000 a member of Seimas .

From 1988 Sienkiewicz was a member of Lietuvos lenkų sąjunga , from 1994 of Lietuvos lenkų rinkimų akcija .
