Jan Steigert
Jan Steigert (born 1968 in Karlsruhe ) is a German stage and costume designer .
Life
Jan Steigert studied theater, film and television studies in Bochum from 1992 to 1996, during which he also sat in at the Schauspielhaus Bochum , the Deutsche Oper am Rhein and the Karlsruhe State Theater from 1992 .
From 1997 to 2000 he was assistant to the set designer Stefan Meyer at the Schauspielhaus Bochum. He worked for directors such as Jürgen Kruse , Christof Nel , Dimiter Gotscheff and Peter Stein . He has been working as a freelancer since 2000.
He works regularly with the directors Torsten Krug, Martina Eitner-Acheampong and Amina Gusner , for example at the Grillo-Theater Essen, the Centraltheater Leipzig and the Staatstheater Braunschweig .
He has also designed stage sets for André Bücker's productions for many years . At the Anhaltisches Theater Dessau and the Nationaltheater Mannheim he created the sets for Die Stumme von Portici , The Ring of the Nibelung , Mother Courage and Her Children , The Beggar's Opera and La Wally at the Landestheater Niederbayern in Passau.
At the Augsburg Theater he designed the stage set for Peer Gynt in 2017 and La forza del destino in 2018 .
