Jan Thomas Lauritzen (born February 6, 1974 in Sarpsborg , Norway ) is a former Norwegian handball player . Jan Thomas Lauritzen is married and has two children. He ran 254 times for the Norwegian national team and was used as a backcourt right or right winger.

Jan Thomas Lauritzen started playing handball in Sarpsborg in 1984 . In 1993 he moved to Uradd and in 1995 to Viking Stavanger HK . Here he was Norwegian champion and twice Norwegian cup winner . In 2002 he signed up for TUSEM Essen in the 1st handball league , with which he won the EHF Cup in 2004. After the forced relegation of his team, he played for half a year for TuS Nettelstedt-Lübbecke , before moving to SG Flensburg-Handewitt in 2005 . With the SG he was in the Champions League final in 2007 , but lost to THW Kiel there . Between 2007 and 2009 he played for the Danish first division club Bjerringbro-Silkeborg . In the summer of 2009 he moved to Tistedalen TIF in Norway. Two years later, the club's handball department was renamed Halden Topphåndball, for which Lauritzen then ran. In 2014 he ended his career there. In the summer of 2016 he took over the coaching of the women's team at Halden HK . After Halden HK went bankrupt in February 2017, Lauritzen took over the men's team from Halden Topphåndball in summer 2017.
