Jan Tomajko (born June 19, 1976 in Olomouc , Czechoslovakia ) is a former Czech ice hockey player .
Career
Jan Tomajko began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown at HC Olomouc , for whose professional team he was active in the Czech extra league from 1994 to 1997 . He then moved to their league rivals HC Vsetín , with whom he won the national championship in 1998, 1999 and 2001 . At the European level, the attacker and his team reached third place in the European Hockey League in the 1997/98 season .
In the summer of 2001 Tomajko moved to HC Sparta Prague . With the capital city he won the Czech championship again in the 2001/02 season. After two more years in Prague he left the team in 2004 and played the following three seasons in the extra league for HC Liberec . The 2000 and 2001 world champion has been on the ice for HC Kladno since 2007, playing in seven games in parallel for his ex-club HC Olomouc, which has now been relegated to the second-class first division . For Olomouc he scored four goals and made six assists.
He was under contract in Kladno until November 2009 before returning to his hometown club HC Olomouc. There he ended his career in 2010.
Tomajko has been a member of the HC Olomouc coaching staff in various positions since 2010, he has also been a partner in the club since 2015 and head coach of the professional team since 2018.
International
For the Czech Republic Tomajko took part in the World Championships in 2000 and 2001 , where he and his team became world champions.
