Jan Wüstenfeld (born June 26, 1975 in Hanover ) is a former German biathlete .

Jan Wüstenfeld lives in Bad Berleburg and started for Bayer 04 Leverkusen . The former sports soldier in the German Armed Forces began biathlon in 1982 . In 1995 he won gold in the relay, silver in the sprint and bronze in the individual competition at the Junior World Championships. Wüstenfeld made his debut in Lillehammer in 1997 in the Biathlon World Cup and was 74th in the sprint. In his second World Cup appearance in Östersund , he came in ninth in the individual for the first time under the top ten and came second in the relay. At the third World Cup station in Kontiolahtihe was even able to win the sprint race and thus celebrated his greatest success, which also earned him qualification for the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano . There he was used in the individual and was 32nd the World Cup season he finished on a 26th place overall. The following season was again successful for Wüstenfeld. He was third in a sprint race in Lake Placid and came in 31st place in the overall World Cup. Wüstenfeld had his last appearances in the World Cup in the 1999/2000 season . In 2000 he entered the European Championships in Zakopane . Here he finished fourth in the singles and won relay gold with Andreas Stitzl , Gunar Bretschneider and Ulf Karkoschka .

Jan Wüstenfeld is married to the former biathlete Katja Beer . After his active career, he finished his medical studies and became team doctor for the German national biathlon team.
