Jana Eberle

Jana Eberle - birth name Kettnerová , later Klessinger - (born November 20, 1952 in Prague ) is a German table tennis player . She took part in the 1975 World Cup.

National

Jana Eberle was born in Prague. She represented the ČSSR at the European Youth Championships in 1966 and 1970. In 1966, she won silver behind Petra Stephan (GDR) in the individual . In 1970 she became European youth champion with the ČSSR team.

Eberle has lived in Germany since 1971. In 1973 she joined the Bundesliga club VSC 1862 Donauwörth , where she played for many years with interruptions and from 2001 worked as a coach. She qualified several times to take part in the German National Championships . She reached the semi-finals in doubles in 1976 with Sigrid Hans and in 1979 with Monika Sedlmair .

In 1975 she took part in the World Cup. In the team competition, she acted as a supplementary player. It was used in the 3-0 defeats against Japan and China as well as in doubles against Romania and remained without a win. With the German team she was tenth. In the individual, she failed after a win over Helen Morrow (Australia) and a loss to Jeanny Dom (Luxembourg) in the qualification. The doubles with Wiebke Hendriksen reached the round of 16 after beating Le Thi Kim Tieng / Banh Ngoc Kinh (Vietnam), where they lost to the Japanese Tomie Edano / Chieko Ono. The mixed Peter Engel / Eberle won in the qualifying round against Sen Poh Lin / Peck Noi Hwoy (Singapore), in the first round against Chin / Tan Kek Hiang (Singapore) and then lost to the Russians Anatoli Strokatow / Asta Gedraitite.

In between she moved from Donauwörth to Bayern Munich and in 1995 to FC Langweid , where she has been working as a player-coach again since 2008.

Private

After their first marriage, Kettnerová was called Jana Eberle . In the late 1980s, Eberle remarried and then performed under the name Jana Klessinger .
