Jana Valeryevna Martynova

Jana Valerjewna Martynowa ( Russian Яна Валерьевна Мартынова ; born February 3, 1988 in Kazan ) is a Russian swimmer .

She took part in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens over 400 m medley , but did not get beyond the heat. In 2006 she reached fifth place at the European Championships . At the 2007 World Championships , Martynova won the silver medal. In 2008 she won bronze at the European Championships . In the same year she took part in the Olympic Games in Beijing, where she was seventh on her special 400 m individual medley. In addition, she also started the 200 m butterfly , where she was eliminated in the preliminary run. In 2012 Martynova took part in her third Olympic Games in London , but did not reach the final. At the Universiade 2013 in Kazan, the city of her birth, she won gold in the 400 m medley and bronze in the 200 m butterfly. In June 2015, Martynova tested positive for Ostarin during a doping control and was then banned for four years.
