Janine Kitzen (born March 1, 1978 in Kerkrade , Netherlands ) is a Dutch opera singer ( soprano ). She is particularly known for her coloratura singing.

Life

At the age of ten Janine Kitzen sang her first public solo under the direction of André Rieu .

Kitzen studied solo singing at the Maastricht Conservatory . After completing her studies in 2001, she continued her education as part of a one-year program at the Brabant Conservatory in Tilburg .

During her vocal studies she played leading roles in operas, operettas and musicals , including Bastienne in Mozart's operas Bastien and Bastienne . In 1998 she took first place in the Una Voce Particolare television competition .

Her most important leading role was that of Christine in Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera in the SI Center in Stuttgart. In addition, Zerlina appeared in the Monschau Opera Air Classic 2010 in the opera Don Giovanni by Mozart.

Recordings

After the TV show Una Voce Particolare she recorded a CD as part of the Luxus Quartet, released her first single "Only Love" and created a solo CD "My Musical Diary" with sound combinations from the areas of musical and pop.
