Janosch Moldau

Janosch Moldau (born August 15, 1974 ) is a German musician and songwriter from Neu-Ulm , who has become known as a solo musician through numerous concerts as the opening act for De / Vision , Project Pitchfork , Mesh and Nitzer Ebb .

Career

Janosch Moldau began writing and recording music himself for the first time in 2004. A few years earlier, he had worked as a sound designer for various recording studios in Cologne, the Netherlands and England, away from his small homeland in Ulm. The debut album Redeemer was released in 2005 on the Janosch Moldau Records label (LC-14654). There are mostly calm electronic songs with synth-pop, dark-wave, downbeat and electroclash influences. The two singles I'm Falling From Love and Bleed On were featured in the GEWC (German Electronic Webcharts) and on various college radio playlists for a few weeks.

The second album entitled Motel Songs was released in 2008. Immediately after the release, Janosch Moldau started a club tour through Germany. The two pre-singles Follow Me and Not With The Son received nationwide radio airplay for the first time. At the same time as his own club tour, Janosch Moldau played as official support for De / Vision on their electronic set tour in 2009. Further appearances in the opening act for Project Pitchfork followed .

His first remix album was released in 2009 with the album Clear + One With The Sinner . Janosch Moldau was seen at several festivals and played a show with Nitzer Ebb and De / Vision in the Berlin Postbahnhof. At the end of 2009 Janosch Moldau accompanied the English synth-pop band Mesh on their European tour for the album A Perfect Solution .

In 2012 the album Lovestar was released on Motor Music distributed by Rough Trade . It was able to place itself in both the German Alternative Charts and the European Alternative Charts . The music video for the single Lovestar of the same name was presented for the first time with an exclusive video premiere on VIVA on September 28, 2012 and was also shown on MTV immediately after the album was released. In November 2012 Janosch Moldau accompanied the band 18 Summers (formerly Silke Bischoff ) on a tour of Germany.

In 2013 further shows followed in Moscow with the band Mesh and in Warsaw with the band De / Vision . Janosch Moldau was supported for the first time by the Music on Tour initiative. A short time later Janosch Moldau was to be seen as a special guest on the entire "Reasons to Kill" tour of the band Solar Fake in February and March 2014. He also played other shows in Moscow and St. Petersburg that year.

In 2015 the musician again signed a longplayer contract with Motor Music for the fourth studio album, which is called “Minor”. The distribution for this album was done by Edel AG Hamburg . The album was very well received by the press and fans and was rated 4 out of 5 on laut.de. At the same time as the album was released, a new music clip that was shot in Venice was presented with an exclusive video premiere. Together with the band Die Krupps Janosch Moldau toured extensively through Europe, and performed a. a. in Stockholm, London, Paris, Bratislava, Prague, Warsaw, Vienna, Bologna and Helsinki. On this tour, too, he was supported by the Initiative Musik .

In the following year Janosch Moldau worked again on the Italian shores of Lake Lugano, where he has been retreating for several years. The result was a remix album called "Ghost Tracks" that was released in September 2016. At the end of 2016 the remix album, which consists of instrumental fragments and reinterpretations of the last studio long player “Minor”, ​​received very positive reviews. After some appearances in Germany, u. a. with the band Diorama , Janosch Moldau then played again in St.Petersburg in December 2016. A short time later he could be seen on stage at the Synthetic Snow Festival in Moscow. These appearances were also funded by the Initiative Musik .
