Jaques Lazier
Jaques Lazier (born January 25, 1971 in Denver ) is an American racing driver . His brother Buddy and his father Bob are also racing drivers.
Career
Lazier began his motorsport career in motocross in 1980 . In 1983 he switched to karting and stayed in this sport until 1987. He then moved into the Formula racing and went from 1989 to 1997 in the US Formula Ford to. He also started half of the 1997 season in the Indy Lights and finished 22nd overall.
In 1998 he moved to the Indy Racing League (IRL). Lazier was only registered at the Indianapolis 500 and could not qualify for that race. In 1999 he took part in every race except the first race. However, the racing driver again failed to qualify for the Indianapolis 500. With seventh places as the best results, he finished 18th in the drivers' standings at the end of the season. In 2000 , Lazier started seven out of nine races in the IRL. For the first time he qualified for the Indianapolis 500 and achieved his best position so far in this race in 13th place. He finished the season in 20th place overall. 2001 was the most successful season to date for the US racing driver. After failing to compete in the first three races of the IRL season, he achieved his first and so far only victory in the IRL in the penultimate race in Joliet . In the overall ranking he finished 17th. It was his best overall ranking in the IRL.
In 2002 Lazier only took part in the first four races. Despite a second place he was replaced by Raul Boesel after these races and finished the season in 26th place. After the championship in 2003 in the IndyCar Series was renamed, he played the first half of the season in this series. With a sixth place as the best result, he was 23rd in the overall ranking. In 2004 Lazier again took part in about half of the races and finished 22nd overall with an eighth place as the best result.
In 2005 he first took part in the Indianapolis 500 for Playa Del Racing . He then went on to replace the dismissed Darren Manning for Chip Ganassi Racing at the last oval races of the season. In the overall standings, he was 24th in 2006 and the 2007 IndyCar Series season , he only competed in the Indianapolis 500 for Playa Del Racing. At the end of the season he finished 29th and 33rd overall.
After a one-year break, Lazier started for Team 3G in the 2009 IndyCar Series season for a total of six races and was 26th in the overall standings. In 2010 , the American was hired for AJ Foyt IV by AJ Foyt Enterprises for the Indianapolis 500. However, Lazier failed to qualify for the first time since 1999.

Jaques Lazier could never build on the successes of his brother Buddy , who won the IRL championship in 2000 and the Indianapolis 500 in 1996. His father Bob was also a racing driver and also competed in the Indianapolis 500.
