Jarmila Loukotková
Jarmila Loukotková (born April 14, 1923 in Prague ; † October 29, 2007 there ) was a Czech prose writer and translator.
Life
Loukotková came from the family of the Americanist, ethnographer and linguist Čestmír Loukotka , who was mainly concerned with the life of the Indians. She first attended high school in Prague (Abitur 1942) and then studied French at a private school, later German.
After 1943 she took a position at the City Hall in Prague and after the war continued studying aesthetics and French at the Philosophical Faculty of Prague University .
Works
Loukotková initially wrote regularly for various magazines and newspapers, including Svobodné slovo , Práce , Květy , Vlasta . In addition to books, she also wrote radio plays and screenplays for Czechoslovak television . However, she became known as an author of historical prose, mostly with an ancient background. Other books describe the psychological and emotional problems of modern women ( Medusa ). Her detective novel Reward and her girl and adventure stories Liane des Todes were also successful .
