Jarran Reed (* 16th December 1992 in Goldsboro , North Carolina ) is an American American football player at the position of the defensive tackles . He played college football for the University of Alabama before being selected in the 2016 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks in the second round.

college

East Mississippi Lions

Reed attended East Mississippi Community College from 2012 to 2013, where he helped the school team win the NJCAA National Championship. During this time he posted 100 tackles and 10.5 tackles for loss of space. After the 2013 season, he moved to the University of Alabama .

University of Alabama

In his first year he was used for the Alabama Crimson Tide in all 14 games and scored 55 tackles and one sack . He subsequently chose not to participate in the 2015 NFL Draft and returned to college for his senior season. That year he won the CFP National Championship with his team and posted 57 tackles and one sack.

NFL

On April 29, 2016, Reed was selected as the 49th player by the Seattle Seahawks in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft . These had previously received the draft right for the 49th pick from the Chicago Bears by ceding a second and fourth round pick. On May 5, 2016 Reed signed his rookie contract for four years and 4,889,000 US dollars . In July 2019, the NFL announced it would ban Reed for the first six games of the 2019 season . The reason was a violation of the code of conduct in early 2017.
