Jarre Live (renamed Destination Docklands (The London Concerts) in 1996) is a live album by French musician Jean Michel Jarre . It is Jarre's third live album and his twelfth album release. The highest chart placement was in England with 16th place. It contains the recording of two concerts on October 8th and 9th, 1988 in London , England , which were performed in the Royal Victoria Docks and experienced by around 400,000 visitors. In terms of content, the concerts played mainly pieces from the recently released studio album Revolutions .
Specialty
The concerts took place with guest musicians accompanied by large fireworks in pouring rain. The weather was extremely bad, which can be seen on the video clip, which is also available. The stage was floating on the Thames on a 1000 ton barge . Jarre was accompanied on a ney in the piece Revolutions by Kudsi Erguner, with whom there was a legal dispute on the album Revolutions due to a sample used by Jarre . The piece London Kid played Jarre together with the British guitarist Hank Marvin . The September accompanied by the Malian women's choir is a dedication to the African politician Dulcie September , who was murdered during the opening of the African National Congress office in Paris on March 29, 1988.
